When Giving Thanks Becomes Living Thanks
Dec 1, 2019 • Dan Pratt
Gratitude often begins as a discipline. Our parents teach us to say “thank you” from a young age. And although we feel grateful occasionally, most of us don’t live grateful lives. After the shame of his betrayal of Jesus, Peter goes back to what he’s always known. Fishing. But Jesus restores Peter’s soul by reminding him of his first love. So much so that, for the rest of his life, Peter would go from simply giving thanks, to living thanks.
