Holy Who?

The Holy Spirit is not an impersonal force, mysterious power, or “it” to be controlled; He is the personal and knowable Spirit of God. Jesus promised His followers that although He would physically leave them, He would not abandon them. He would send the Holy Spirit—the Helper, Advocate, Counselor, and Spirit of Truth—to remain with them and live within those who trust in Jesus. Because the Holy Spirit has a mind, a will, and emotions, believers can develop a genuine relationship with Him. He understands our thoughts, intercedes when we do not know how to pray, directs us according to God’s will, and can be grieved by how we live. Knowing and trusting the Holy Spirit enables us to experience God’s presence, guidance, comfort, power, and love in a personal and life-changing way.
